Our Expert Interior Design Services

We specialize in the total interior design, management, and oversight of large-scale home renovations, additions, or new home construction.  All of Lara Michelle’s interior designs are uniquely created by Lara and executed by her artisan team of experienced home contractors.  We can also work with your home contractor or get various bids for your project from a few contractors to help you select the appropriate one.  Your entire design process happens under the watchful eye of Lara Michelle to ensure all of your designs are one-of-kind, finished on schedule, completed within budget, and finished perfectly, down to the final detail.  Our client base is primarily located in Westchester NY, Greenwich CT., Fairfield CT, New York City, and the surrounding New York metro area including Long Island and the Hamptons.  We are happy to travel upon request to other locations around the globe.

Creating Budgets

If you need Lara to create a design budget for your project, Lara is adept and experienced in creating a realistic budget for you.  We can also help you to determine if your budget is doable and if not, what spaces you can complete within your budget.  Throughout the design process, Lara will keep your budget updated and help you stay on track.

Floorplan Designs & Furniture Layouts

Creating a well-designed floorplan and furniture layout is the first step any interior designer completes in the process of designing a home.  Lara will assess your spaces and based on your needs and wishes, will draft the most functional and flowing floorplan for your home.  Then we will layout the furniture within the rooms in the way that works best for you while maximizing your space.  Once your finalized floor plans and furniture layouts are approved, we move onto selecting the best items for your rooms.

Custom Cabinetry & Millwork

A large part of our design business is designing, building, and installing unique TV built-ins, kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, bookcases, bars, mudroom benches and cubbies, and wall moldings & paneling.  “I take such pride in my cabinetry designs, they are truly one of a kind, handmade pieces.”  Lara uses only the best materials, selects special finishes and beautiful hardware for all her designs and oversees the building and installation of each piece to ensure they turn out perfectly.

Dining Room Design

Foyer Design

Welcome! The foyer is typically the first space in your house that people come into, so it should greet people in a beautiful and welcoming way. We design and install new custom stair railings that can drastically change and update the look of your foyer. Using unique flooring, beautiful stair carpet runners, furniture, lighting, artwork, and accessories, we can transform your foyer and wow visitors with their first step into your home.

Bathroom Design & Renovation

We have completed hundreds of fabulous bathroom renovations over the years.  Master bathrooms are our specialty, but we love designing and renovating kid’s bathrooms, guest bathrooms, and powder rooms too.  Our bathroom designs include everything from designing the tile layouts, to drafting the lighting plans, to selecting all the fixtures, and creating custom vanities.  We will design, implement and oversee your entire bathroom renovation project down to selecting and installing the toilet paper holder and robe hooks!

Kitchen Design & Renovation

Creating beautiful custom kitchens for clients is one of Lara’s strongest talents.  Lara can help you with initial budgeting, selection and scheduling of contractors and oversight of your entire kitchen renovation project.  She will design the most functional layout for your kitchen and select stunningly unique fixtures, appliances, countertops, tiles, and lighting.  Lara has designed and installed dozens of custom cabinets for client’s kitchens.  We prefer to use our in-house carpenters for your kitchen cabinetry in order to ensure the best quality and outcome.  Reducing stress and headaches is one of our top priorities for your home renovations.  

Home Office Designs

We all know home offices have become vitally important in our homes.  Lara’s expertise will help you create a professional yet beautiful home office.  She can also help you with designing a great looking backdrop for all your virtual meetings and avoid that faux tree looking like it’s sprouting from your head!  You will look ten times more professional by changing your unattractive and distracting backgrounds to ones that are organized and well designed.

Master Suite Design

Lara can create a beautiful and idyllic master suite for your home.  Starting with the design layout of the bedroom, bathroom, and closet interiors.  Expertly coordinating the colors, furniture, flooring, paint colors, lighting, fabrics, bedding, window treatments, artwork and accessories, she can bring it all together seamlessly.  “The interior design of a master suite should all flow together and feel like an oasis and retreat from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the house”. 

Dressing Rooms/Closets Design

Our custom closet and dressing room capabilities are limitless. Our in house carpenter is a skilled, master at his profession and can build just about anything Lara designs for him! From closet islands with custom drawers and inserts, to glass or mirrored closet doors, whatever your closet or dressing room needs are, we can design, build, and install it for you. Special one of a kind finishes, molding treatments or inlays, we do it all under one design firm. Mudroom Design

We love designing functional and beautiful mudrooms.  Lara will work with you to create a mudroom that can incorporate custom benches, cubbies, cabinets, with hooks and cushions, in a configuration that works best in your space.  She will coordinate the colors, fabrics, wallcovering, paint colors, flooring, lighting and furniture that will not only look amazing, but also greatly enhance the value of your home.  

Laundry Room Design

Doing the laundry is no longer relegated to the dark and dingy basement.  Lately we have been designing entire rooms designated exclusively for the purpose of cleaning clothes.  Relocated to an upper floor of the home, we design laundry rooms fully complete with custom cabinetry, beautiful tile, luxe countertops, designer wallpaper, and coordinating window treatments.  After we design yours, you may be finding excuses to clean your clothes more often!

Family Room Design

The family room is usually the most used room in the house and often an extension of the kitchen.  This room must be extremely functional, coordinate with the adjoining rooms, and also look great!  Lara already knows you need your family room design to be the most comfortable and durable room in the house and stand up to the abuse it will endure.  She will work with you to create a furniture layout for your needs and select fabulous yet hardy fabrics, furniture, flooring, window treatments, paint colors and more.  If you need a TV built-in or fireplace surround, Lara can design and create a stunning custom piece for you.  

Kid’s Rooms & Nurseries

Creating unique and fun kid’s room and nurseries are so much fun.  We love using inspiring wallcoverings, paint colors, bedding, window treatments, floor coverings, lighting, artwork and accessories.  Lara has designed fantastic bedroom built-ins for kids’ rooms, from desk and bookcase built-ins to window seat benches with fun cushions, pillows, and hardware.  We will work with your kids to get a feel for their personalities and let it shine through in their bedroom designs.

We also love designing playrooms, home gyms, bars, and outdoor patios! As we work from home more these days, these extra rooms play larger roles and enhance our lives enormously.
